The admission process is the first step toward earning your MSN – Gerontologic Clinical Nurse Leader online. Requirements for admission to this program include:

  • BSN degree from a nationally accredited school of nursing
  • GPA of at least 2.8 cumulative on a 4.0 scale
  • RN license active and unencumbered

Online Program Admission Requirements

Applicants for the Master of Science in Nursing – Gerontologic Clinical Nurse Leader online program are evaluated on a holistic basis. Applicants must submit a $40 application fee and meet the following criteria:

  • Two years clinical nursing experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an nationally accredited school of nursing
  • Unencumbered registered nurse license
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • GRE required if the cumulative GPA is less than 2.8
    • Formula Score: (GPA X GRE = 712)
  • Submission of official transcripts from all accredited colleges and universities attended

An examination of social aspects of adjustment to aging, attitudes toward aging, social-psychological and sociological theories of aging, successful aging, family patterns, intergenerational relationships, leisure, and retirement. Attention will be given to demographic changes, middle age, minority aged, and adult socialization.
